Breakthrough Solutions Program to be Unveiled at VisionWorks Conference on May 3
Community and regional leaders, community development professionals, and local government officials will have a unique learning opportunity on Tuesday, May 3. A VisionWorks Conference will be held in the Great Hall of the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock for the purpose of sharing insights and concepts that will equip participants to prosper in the global, knowledge-based economy. In particular, the brand-new Breakthrough Solutions program will be unveiled. Drawing on research, concepts, and experiences in community development, leadership development, economic development, information technology, and strategic thinking, Breakthrough Solutions is designed to equip community leaders to create their future in this new era.
VisionWorks is the new name for VISION 2010, a partnership initiative of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service. "Inspired by DreamWorks in California, VisionWorks portrays the work of our partners and communities in putting their visions to work in this new era," states Mark Peterson, Extension Community Development Specialist with the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service .
The conference features a video of "The Four Horsemen of the Knowledge Economy," a panel of community leaders from across the state discussing threats and opportunities facing their communities, a presentation on the Breakthrough Solutions Program, and a developer from Washington who has an extraordinary story of collaboration.
